Nuit blanche & Underground Art

It’s that time of year again: a cultural all-nighter happening all over Montreal this Saturday night, organized by Montréal en Lumières / Montreal Hightlights Festival.

There’s a ton of stuff I want to see, but this bilingual blurb about an underground (literally) art expo looks particularly cool:

Saturday february 28, an unique event takes place in Montréal. During Montréal’s All Nighter, Underground Art will present underground city while exhibiting works representative of current art. More than 50 local artists will invest in a 2,5km portion of the city including the following strategic places: Eaton center, Place Ville-Marie,Palais des congès… Students will be present to explain artists’ work to visitors and to weave bond between artists and general public. Make sure to be there!

An update from event organizer Frédéric Loury (who also runs Galérie SAS) puts the current tally at 80 projects, 150 artists and 160 volunteers! For more info, visit the Art Souterrain website (in French) or head over to their Facebook event page.
